Table of Contents
Terminating your LLC
Form 1120 and Form 5472 for the current year
At the bottom of the LLC tab of autos.visitor.us, click the big red button that says Terminate LLC.
You’ll be prompted to confirm the termination request.
There is no cost to request your LLC’s termination.
After receiving your termination request, visitor.us will file Articles of Termination for your LLC with the Montana Secretary of State’s office.
We receive an Articles of Termination Certification Letter, which we upload to the LLC tab of autos.visitor.us
You will receive an email notification that the Articles of Termination Certification Letter is available.
All LLC’s owned by non-US persons are required to file Form 1120 and Form 5472 for any year during which the LLC had activity, even if the LLC was terminated in that year.
Unfortunately, the current year’s Form 1120 and Form 5472 are not published until January of the following year. (This is because the government may make changes to the tax laws during the year.)
So it will not be possible to file Form 1120 and Form 5472 in the year in which you sell your vehicle and terminate your LLC until February of the following year.
visitor.us will contact you when Form 1120 and Form 5472 are ready for your input.
Please action them, even if your LLC has been terminated.
